The CHSV has a new Refund Policy that went into effect on May 1, 2023 for paid events and programs.

June 4, 2023 - 2pm at the 1917 Historical Courthouse. A re-enactment of the famous Chesterfield trial will be held at the Chesterfield 1917 Historical Courthouse - “A Question of Religious Freedom: The 1773 Baptist Preacher - Trial: The year is 1773, a minister must obtain an official license from British Crown authorities to preach in public. Archibald Cary, the magistrate of Chesterfield County,Virginia is arresting individuals who openly break this law. Citizens across the countryside begin to question the Crown’s authority to regulate religious teachings. Please join us in an interactive historical performance of the June 4, 1773 that led us on the path toward our shared religious freedom. Sunday June 4, 2 pm, Hosted by the Chesterfield Historical Society of the Virginia and the Chesterfield County 250th Committee.
This event will require pre-registration as space is limited. Please call 804-796-7121 or email the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia at Admin@chesterfieldhistory.com with your name (s) of those attending. The Historic 1917 Courthouse is an active court and a headcount with names of those attending is required for this historical accurate portrayal”. FREE!
June 15, 2023 5:30pm-830pm- The Westchester Concert series will once again host a series of performances that will benefit local charitable organizations. The June 15, 2023 concert of the year will benefit the Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia. The English Channel Band will perform the extraordinary British hits of the mid 1960's and 1970's...classic rock, pop & prog from The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Dusty Springfield, The Who, Herman's Hermits, The Zombies, the Moody Blues, ELO, Petula Clark, Yes, The Kinks, Lulu, Queen, ELP, the Dave Clark Five, Deep Purple & many, many others. Come and and enjoy great music and refrements provided for a fee. FREE!
Refund Policy Effective May 1, 2023....
Refund Disclosure for CHSV
Effective May 1, 2023 the following refund policy will be effective for all programming.
All participant-initiated refund requests should be made in-writing and submitted to the Administrative Assistant for approval. Full refunds, less a $5.00 administrative fee will be made for cancellations received more than 10 business days (14 calendar) days before the event or program. Refunds will not be made for requests received within 10 business days before the event. Activity fees for any advertised program under $10.00 are nonrefundable.
If a program is cancelled by Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia, due to low enrollment the participant will receive a full refund. All refund requests are subject to review by the Chesterfield Historical Society's Treasurer and President. Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia reserves the right to review these procedures and administer refunds in the best interest of the Society and by generally approved accounting procedures.

Our Events
When scheduled, our Events Calendar includes: Annual Winter Lecture Series, Genealogy Workshops, Rotating Exhibits, Tours of Civil War sites, Paranormal Investigations, Elegant Themed Teas, Summer Camps for Scouts, Home-Schoolers and children age group 8-12
Annual fundraisers include: Ever-Popular Antiques Evaluation, Westchester Commons Summer Concert Series: Concert events are held from 5:30-8:30 on Thursday evenings in the Westchester Concert Field, on Main Street at Westchester Commons. On the day of the Concert, you can help us raise funds for this event.
We sponsor the Annual Chesterfield County Veterans Day ceremony at the 1917 Courthouse and support the preservation of our historical sites and Civil War parks. In addition, the Society promotes county history through public speaking engagements, information tables at local festivals and programs for educational outreach.
